Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a 9 x13 inch cake pan. Pour the pineapple with the juice into the prepared pan, spreading evenly to make the first layer. Spread the cherry pie filling over the pineapple layer and then spread the dry cake mix over the cherry pie filling. Sprinkle the cake mix layer with pecans and the dark chocolate chips. Finally distribute the sliced butter evenly over the top.
Bake in a preheated oven for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Allow to cool and serve with whipped cream.
NOTE: This cake will be on the wetter side and does not resemble a traditional cake. Use a large spoon to serve the portions either on a dessert plate or bowl./p>
